Spec notes
- Sukano becomes exclusive techno-commercial partner for Poddar Pigments' SPD masterbatch portfolio in the US, Canada and Latin America, announced September 22, 2026.
- Poddar Pigments is an ISO 9001:2015-certified manufacturer specializing in solution dyed nylon, polyester BCF, and multifilament yarn and fiber applications.
- The partnership targets polyester, polyolefin and nylon fiber applications requiring lot-to-lot color consistency and high-accuracy color matching.
- Custom color developments and customer-specific formulations will continue to be developed and supplied directly by Sukano.
- Poddar states its production facility runs entirely on renewable solar energy; Sukano reports solar installations in Switzerland and Malaysia toward net-zero emissions.

Sukano Polymers Corporation has secured exclusive techno-commercial rights to sell and distribute Poddar Pigments Limited's single pigment dispersion (SPD) masterbatch portfolio across the United States, Canada and Latin America, with local stock included in the arrangement.
The partnership, announced September 22, 2026 from Sukano's headquarters in Schindellegi, Switzerland, significantly expands the company's offering for fiber applications. It gives fiber producers in the Americas access to a full range of SPD black, white and color masterbatches engineered for highly concentrated solution dyed fibers. Custom color developments and customer-specific formulations will continue to be developed and supplied directly by Sukano.
Poddar Pigments, an ISO 9001:2015-certified masterbatch manufacturer based in India, specializes in solution dyed nylon, polyester BCF, and multifilament yarn and fiber applications. Sukano specializes in color and additive masterbatches for polyesters, biopolymers and specialty resins.
What does the deal cover?
The agreement targets polyester, polyolefin and nylon fiber applications — segments where lot-to-lot color consistency, high-accuracy color matching, purity, process stability and product performance are critical.
For buyers, the arrangement changes the vendor map in three ways:
- Single point of contact: Sukano's dedicated commercial and technical teams become the primary contact from product selection through implementation.
- Regional inventory: Local stock across the Americas replaces import-dependent supply for Poddar's SPD portfolio.
- Combined capabilities: Poddar brings manufacturing expertise and color technology; Sukano adds regional presence, technical know-how and customer support infrastructure.
What technical resources back the partnership?
Sukano operates an in-house technical center for polymer and high-performance fiber testing, equipped with laboratory fiber extrusion machinery. Capabilities include:
- yarn feasibility testing;
- sample production for different spinning processes;
- small-batch manufacturing;
- development of fibers for specialized applications;
- precise color matching services.
The companies say these capabilities support demanding visual and mechanical requirements while maximizing production efficiency, speed to market and yield.
What did the executives say?
"This partnership strengthens our ability to offer customers a robust and reliable supply of high-quality single pigment dispersions and tailormade colors, backed by local technical support and exceptional service," said Mark Fessler, CEO of Sukano Polymers Corporation. "By combining our market and technical expertise with Poddar's manufacturing excellence, we are creating a compelling value proposition for fiber producers across the Americas."
"As India's oldest and largest fiber masterbatch company, we have built decades of expertise in fiber coloration and processing to deliver the right solution for every customer," said Gaurav Goenka, CEO of Poddar Pigments. "By partnering with Sukano, we combine technical excellence, expert support, and market ready capabilities in a reliable one-stop solution for even the most specialized and demanding fiber applications across the United States, Canada and Latin America."
How do the sustainability claims stack up?
Both companies position the deal around solution dyeing as an alternative to conventional fiber dyeing processes, which they describe as harmful. Sukano has worked on technologies that maximize use of environmentally responsible polymer solutions such as PET and biopolymers; Poddar cites synthesized coloration technologies in India.
On operations, Poddar says it powers its production facility entirely with renewable solar energy through rooftop installations and a dedicated solar plant. Sukano reports solar panel installations at its facilities in Switzerland and Malaysia in support of net-zero emissions goals. These are company statements; the announcement does not include third-party verification or certification details.
The distribution arrangement is effective now, with custom color development remaining a Sukano direct service — a structure that positions the Swiss company as the gateway for fiber producers in the Americas seeking SPD masterbatches with regional stock and technical support.
