NEWME has opened 26 stores in 2026 so far, compared with 18 during its first three years, bringing its India footprint to 44 outlets.
The four Navratri openings break down as follows:
- Agartala: First NEWME store in the city.
- Raipur: First NEWME store in the city.
- Jaipur: Fourth NEWME outlet.
- Hyderabad: Second NEWME store.
What has changed in the store network?
The 44-store footprint includes new outlets on Lajpat Nagar in Delhi and in Model Town, Jalandhar. Over the past two months, NEWME has expanded into Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam and Vadodara while strengthening its presence in Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan.
The announcement gives no closure count, so the 26 openings cannot be translated directly into net portfolio growth.
Where is the expansion moving next?
The company plans to reach 50 stores by December 2026 and 60 by March 2027. Those targets sit six and 16 locations above the current 44-store base. On a net store-count basis, the March plan adds 10 locations in the three months between the two checkpoints.
In August, NEWME opened five stores across Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan. High-footfall high streets have emerged as a key focus alongside shopping malls, giving the company two location formats for testing local demand and channel reach.
The August cohort widened the rollout beyond Delhi and Mumbai, but the announcement does not name each of the five sites or provide store-level sales.
NEWME said its expansion strategy is “guided by digital demand, consumer behaviour and location-level performance.” The statement ties openings to online signals and local trading results, but the announcement does not identify the metrics or thresholds used for approval, break-even timing, or whether the stores are company-operated, leased or franchised.
The announcement also omits capital cost, sales per square foot and inventory funding.
How significant is offline retail?
According to NEWME, offline retail “contributes more than 30% of its business” and has recorded “100% year-on-year growth.” The announcement provides no revenue base, comparable-store measure or breakdown between new and existing locations, so the growth rate cannot be treated as evidence of same-store productivity.
NEWME also offers NEWME Zip for faster delivery of trend-led fashion. That gives the digital channel a stated speed proposition alongside physical retail, but the announcement gives no delivery times, coverage, inventory location or fulfilment cost, leaving the service’s operational contribution to the rollout undisclosed.
What should partners and suppliers watch?
NEWME, founded in 2022, is an India-based fashion and consumer internet company that focuses on Gen Z consumers. It offers trend-led collections through a digital platform and physical stores and has served more than 3.5 million customers to date. Accel and Fireside Ventures back the company.
The public disclosures leave several commercial inputs unresolved: store capex and lease structure, inventory ownership, purchase commitments, production capacity, supplier certifications and lead times. The announcement does not allow inventory, working-capital or fulfilment needs to be sized for a six-location December step and a further 10 locations by March.
The next checkpoints are whether NEWME reaches 50 stores by December 2026 and 60 by March 2027, and whether it discloses enough operating data to show that the larger network is producing durable offline growth rather than footprint-driven expansion alone.
