Alohas now operates 13 physical stores worldwide. The Barcelona-based footwear and accessories brand opened a second Paris location and its first San Francisco store, extending a retail expansion that began in the US market only this year.

Where has Alohas opened?

The new Paris store sits in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It joins the brand's existing Parisian location in Le Marais. In San Francisco, Alohas has taken space at 2208 Fillmore Street — its first outpost in the city and a move the CEO had flagged as under consideration earlier this year.

Both stores carry the full range: sneakers, sandals, ballet flats and more.

Alejandro Porras, founder and chief executive officer, said Paris has been a "key city" for the brand since it launched in 2015. "The response to our first store confirmed the connection between the brand and the Parisian audience," Porras said in a statement. "Opening a second location, this time in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, allows us to consolidate our presence in the city while reaching a new community."

How does this fit the US expansion?

The San Francisco opening follows a fast US build-out. Alohas entered the American market with its first physical location in 2025, then added a second permanent New York City store at 400 Bleecker Street in the West Village and its first Los Angeles pop-up at 1410 Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, California, in May.

"The United States is one of our strategic markets, and this opening is an important step in our expansion, but also an opportunity to build a closer relationship with our local community and allow them to discover Alohas in a much more complete way," Porras said.

New York anchors the American business. "New York is the most important city in the world for us in terms of online sales, and is where we have most customers," Porras told FN in an interview in May.

What comes next?

Porras has scoped storefronts in Miami, Chicago, Austin, Dallas, Boston and San Francisco. The Fillmore Street deal confirms one of those targets. The CEO framed the pace as deliberate rather than aggressive.

"We will continue to keep opening stores, but it's a matter of having the patience to find the right opportunity and the right spot," Porras said in May.

Beyond the US, the Paris and San Francisco openings follow Alohas' first store in Austria, in Vienna. The 13-store network now spans London, Copenhagen, Milan, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Madrid alongside the newer markets.

What is the background?

Porras founded Alohas in 2015 while living in Hawaii, inspired by the Menorquinas sandals he wore daily on the island. Over 11 years the company expanded from that sandal silhouette into broader footwear categories, ready-to-wear and handbags.

The company has not disclosed store counts by market, sales figures or investment behind the expansion. The openings signal continued physical-channel investment in cities where the brand reports strong existing online demand — a pattern that suggests site selection follows e-commerce data rather than wholesale distribution.

Porras has indicated more openings will follow as suitable locations emerge.
