Luxury skiwear brand Perfect Moment launched a menswear capsule on Monday, with retail prices running from $195 to $1,595. The range marks a deliberate return to the category that founded the company in 1984.
The capsule centers on technical skiwear. It includes technical outerwear, ski trousers, quilted jackets, elevated jumpers and merino- and alpaca-blend knits. Design specifications include bonded seams, waterproof fabrics, seam-sealed zippers, reflective side stripes and mountain-print linings.
"Perfect Moment was born as a men's extreme sports brand, worn by the freeride champions of the world, so menswear has always been at the very heart of who we are," said Jane Gottschalk, the company's cofounder and creative director.
Why menswear, and why now?
Gottschalk framed the capsule as a heritage play rather than a category experiment. The collection revives original pieces from the brand's archive and rebuilds the assortment around them.
"Fast forward to today, and we are reintroducing that heritage, including some of our original pieces, back into our world," she said. "The collection starts with a truly technical capsule, uncompromising pieces built for performance on the mountain, and from there we have built around it with sharper silhouettes, classic color and technical fabrics that give the collection its own distinct point of view."
The strategy echoes the brand's founding identity. Perfect Moment was established in 1984 in Chamonix as a high-performance ski brand, and its early customer base consisted of male freeride competitors. The new range treats that technical credibility as the commercial anchor, then extends the assortment into lifestyle-adjacent knitwear and quilted pieces at lower price points.
Who owns it, and where does it sell?
Jane Gottschalk and her husband Max, a British-Swiss entrepreneurial couple, acquired the brand in 2012 and shifted its design direction toward fashion-led styling fused with technical performance.
Distribution today is global and weighted toward luxury e-tail and department stores. Listed retail partners include:
- Mytheresa
- Net-a-porter
- Harrods
- Selfridges
- Saks Fifth Avenue
- Bergdorf Goodman
- Neiman Marcus
The brand also sells direct through its global online channel.
What signals a broader strategy?
The capsule follows a mass-market collaboration Perfect Moment launched last year with Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M. That pairing gave the brand volume exposure at accessible prices; the new menswear line returns the focus to full-price luxury positioning, with the $1,595 top-end pieces anchoring the range's technical credentials.
For wholesale partners, the capsule's price architecture — from a $195 entry point to $1,595 for flagship outerwear — spans gifting-level knitwear to performance shells, giving buyers flexibility across categories.
The brand has not disclosed projected order volumes, factory sources or certification details for the capsule's technical fabrics, so supply-chain specifics remain unconfirmed. Buyers will likely watch whether the reintroduced archive pieces perform strongly enough to convert this heritage capsule into a permanent menswear line.
