- Premier Textiles Group, founded 1981 and Manchester-based, sold its US arm to focus on UK and European markets
- Media One CEO Jake Feldman cites Premex's pre-treated and natural textiles as complementing its printing technology
- Premex customers keep existing people and products, backed by Media One's nationwide technical service
Media One has acquired Premex Solutions, the Georgia-based digital textile fabrics supplier, in a deal announced September 22, 2026 that shifts US print-ready fabric supply under an owner with printing equipment, inks and nationwide technical service already in place. Financial terms were not disclosed.
For sourcing and print-production buyers, the practical change is consolidation: Premex's print-ready and pre-treated fabrics now sit alongside Media One's existing portfolio companies, Fisher Textiles and Hyperflex Vinyls. Media One said the combination brings fabrics, printing hardware, inks, finishing solutions and nationwide technical service under one roof — a single-vendor pitch aimed at digital print operations scaling US output.
Who are the parties?
Premex Solutions was established to serve growing US demand for digitally printable textiles. It carries the product expertise and textile heritage of its parent, Premier Textiles Group, a family-run Manchester business founded in 1981 serving customers across North West England and beyond. Ashok Kallumpram, Managing Director of Premier Textiles, has led the family business for more than four decades.
Media One, based in Atlanta, Georgia, operates across digital imaging supplies and equipment. CEO Jake Feldman framed the deal as a technical fit rather than a diversification play.
What does the deal change for customers?
Media One stated that Premex customers will continue working with the same people and products, now backed by Media One's wider capabilities. No integration timeline, capacity figures or plant-level details were disclosed, so buyers should treat continuity of supply contacts as the confirmed baseline and broader service bundling as an announced intention.
Feldman said: "Premex has developed best-in-class print-ready and pre-treated fabrics, along with real technical depth in natural and specialty textiles that complements our own printing technology and service expertise."
The strategic logic runs in both directions. Media One gains fabric depth — including pre-treated and natural textiles — to pair with its hardware and service footprint. Premier Textiles Group gains focus, redirecting resources toward Premier Textiles and Premier Digital Textiles in its core UK and European markets.
Why did the seller exit now?
Nick Smith, Director of Premier Textiles Group, was explicit that the sale reflects prioritization, not retreat. He said: "Premex has developed into an exciting business with real potential in the US market. This acquisition puts it in the best position to reach that potential, with an owner able to give it the focus, resource and investment it needs."
Smith added: "This is about focus, not a lack of opportunity. Premex's US potential is real, and that's exactly why it needs an owner who can give it full attention. We can then put ours into growing our core UK and European businesses."
Kallumpram emphasized the seller's priority was finding a long-term home for the business rather than maximizing a quick exit. "Premex Solutions represents an important extension of that legacy into the US digital printing market, so finding the right long-term home for the business was very important to us," he said. "We believe Media One shares our commitment to customers, people and the textile industry, and has the capabilities and vision to build on that legacy for many years to come."
What should supply-chain watchers track next?
The transaction is closed, not a letter of intent — ownership has transferred. What remains unverified is execution: no capacity expansions, facility investments or certification changes were announced alongside the deal, and no price or lead-time commitments were made public.
Key open questions for buyers:
- Whether Media One bundles Premex fabrics with its equipment and ink offerings into packaged supply agreements
- Whether Premier Textiles Group redirects the freed capital into specific UK or European capacity, as Smith's statement implies
- Whether Premex's product development pipeline — historically a stated growth driver — accelerates under new ownership
With Media One promising "full attention" to the US digital textile opportunity and Premier Textiles Group concentrating on its home markets, both sides have now staked their next investment cycles on the split — and the undisclosed price leaves the market to judge the outcome by what each portfolio delivers.
